Who we are

Community isn't a service.
It's our starting point.

Kominote takes its name from the Haitian Creole word for community—a reminder that meaningful progress begins with people, trust, and shared purpose.

Different languages. Common ground.

People working toward the same goal don't always speak the same language. Sometimes those differences are literal. Often they're professional, organizational, or rooted in lived experience.

We help bridge those divides—listening carefully, making complex ideas accessible, and helping organizations tell their stories and accomplish more together.

How we've grown

Kominote was built on a simple belief: organizations doing important work deserve the expertise, relationships, and resources to make that work possible.

Since 2014, we've partnered with nonprofits, foundations, healthcare organizations, and community-serving institutions to develop fund development strategies, strengthen grant programs, and navigate public and philanthropic funding opportunities.

Our work has helped clients secure more than $90 million in funding and revenue—resources they use to expand services, strengthen programs, and advance their missions.

Over time, we've grown beyond fund development alone. Work across healthcare, behavioral health, housing, and public systems has deepened our conviction that strong funding strategies depend on understanding the people, partnerships, and programs behind them.

Today, we bring that experience to established institutions and emerging changemakers alike.

What matters

Curiosity before assumptions. Integrity over convenience. Respect for expertise and lived experience. Candor paired with compassion. Ambition grounded in accountability.
